Fwd:
We had a blast this weekend seeing family in Southern Virginia. Thank you everyone who came to see us out in Floyd. We loved it!
We also loved spending time with the horses on the property (i.e., Reagan and Flicka). Reagan is Laura Beth's horse, the tall one.
We spent the weekend picking blackberries, swinging from the tree swing, eating s'mores and other wonderful cooking! Travis and I rearranged the creek to make it more accessible to the horses. I picked out most of the weeds in the garden with Cline Lee (nephew) and the next day we ate the green beans that we picked.

Joshua Tree Adventures!
This time we went hiking in the "real" Hall of Horrors! It was fun to hike through the long passageway between solid rock walls. To our surprise, Julia found a second corridor that runs parallel to the "real" Hall of Horrors but it was even more narrow. Very cool trying to fit through the foot wide passage.
This picture of the Joshua Tree is actually a picture that I took from Home Depot in Yucca Valley after a rain storm.
Then we hiked out to Planet X, another bouldering area, that few tourists take time to explore. Its desolate setting between Hidden Valley Campground and Hall of Horrors makes it feel like a true barren planet.

The hall of horrors
This is me looking down from the same position that you see Israel in, when he stemmed up, in the picture below.

Inside the hall of horrors
This is an image of brave Israel, after he stemmed his way up to this high point inside the hall of horrors, and was afraid to go any further to where his mom was waiting.
